If bodycams confirm what is being reported than Scheffler put an officer in harms way and deserved to at the least be detained.

Show me one clip of body cam footage...from any incident since the invention of body cams...that shows the view of a badge or something else that would have identified the guy as a cop that Scheffler would have had.

If it was important enough to get to the course he could tried to talk to the officers and explain the situation.

Maybe that's what he was tryin to do when the cop yanked him out of the car.

This cop wasn't investigating shite. This guy was directing traffic at a location not near where the death happened.

I agree. If he did what the ESPN reporter said he did, and he apparently has it all recorded, Scheffler fricked up.

This cop wasn’t part of the event traffic detail for the tournament, so he probably didnt even know the procedures for letting credentialed persons into the course. Scheffler was apparently following the normal procedure for entering the course as a competitor, unaware that an accident had occurred that was causing traffic problems. The cop could have used a little common sense before taking it this far.

Traffic was backed up due to an accident down the road. It wouldn’t shock me if he thought the cop in the yellow jacket was just a guy directing players to the course.

So it was ok to drive off if it was just a civilian attached to his car?

So it's ok for the cop to just latch onto a 4,000 pound car like he's gonna stop it like a rolling grocery buggy?

Dumbass cop used poor judgment and then for no good reason escalated an incident that should have been over in 30 seconds.

Green jacket, plaid jacket and now an orange jumpsuit, Scottie is having a career wardrobe season.

If he doesn't go out there today and wear a jump-suit orange polo or jacket, him and his team are missing a huge opportunity. 1) It shows he can laugh at himself, and 2) would probably win over a few of those fans who weirdly "hate" him because he's too boring and milquetoast.

Sounds like all a huge miscommunication and overreaction on the part of everyone involved. One mistake led to another mistake and another and snowballed.

How in the hell is a body cam going to show you that the cop was wearing anything identifying his as a cop over his rain gear?

Sounds like a case of miscommunication escalated by a cop with a room temperature IQ.

I completely see a world where Scheffler was simply confused and really did nothing that constitutes as an overreaction.

The PGA provides them with tournament vehicles to make sure this doesn't happen. I guess they will have to provide them with tournament drivers of those vehicles so they can avoid the locals arresting them for driving said vehicles.

He isn’t getting convicted of a felony. Zero percent chance.

They're reporting now that one cop was waving Scheffler through and the cop in question was allegedly telling him to stop. So he was genuinely confused and kept driving.

The cop in question lost his ever loving mind and jumped on his car. Imagine jumping on a marked PGA Tour car to stop them from entering a PGA event.

fricking clownshow. Anyone defending this is an idiot.

So far we learned that:

PGA and Valhalla communicated with the LPD to allow Golfers to go around

The officer was not assigned to traffic that morning at all, so likely didn't get that memo

It was very dark outside

The officer was wearing a yellow reflective rain coat very similar to security guards, and Scottie told him that he did not know he was a police officer

The officer is being reported to have escalated the situation by multiple people, while Scottie never raised his voice
