The same reason any other person migrates to any other place, jobs. This isn't a very complicated concept but it constantly gets asked on this site.

"Why are so many people moving to so in so, I don't get it."

People need money, they look for jobs. No jobs in their area so they look at another that has more jobs.

I'd rather have Louisiana. At least you get good food.

We have enough homegrown trailer park trash and meth in Texas already.

This is about where I’m at. If I can find a job in a decent place outside the triangle I will surely take it

There is much more to Texas than the triangle. Why not carve out a new region in Texas? Especially for those California people coming east. El Paso seems to get over looked. It could be much more than it is. All it takes is a migration and word of mouth. That’s why they all came to DFW and Houston. They heard about it. There’s also the valley. Like why can’t that become the next place to be for transplants? Enough with this endless sprawl they’re creating in DFW/HOU

Barber told me they are getting new customers every week who've moved in from Cali. I live around Tyler. He said they like the area and the real estate prices.

Texas is obviously one of the most important states in the country, but I've never had any desire to move there.

Every state is "important". We wouldn't be US without all fifty.

tell me what Delaware brings to the table outside tax sheltering to form a company.

Nah there’s plenty that could simply be annexed into another nearby state.

Mississippi and Alabama could be one state.

West Virginia could be split between PA and VA

New Mexico could be split between Texas and Colorado

Too many states in the northeast to list.

i'd love for all the tiny NE states to merge into PA, MA, NY, and MN.

i know land doesn't vote, but the welfare of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and the Dakotas are infinitely more important to me than three states smaller than the DFW metro who get 6 senators.
