We are giving players some huge NIL deals, dont be fooled by a short clip you heard. He was simply saying in terms of the portal we are not getting into a large bidding war for a mid-level non-impact player like a Damonic Williams. We arent getting into unnecessary bidding wars is what Kelly is saying. Make no mistake, the NIL deals they've negotiated with guys like Moore and Underwood are very large. You HAVE to do that to attract guys like that to begin with because if you dont, a handful of other schools easily will. You spend the money on guys who are very good here and guys who are elite, not on guys like Damonic Williams and Wesley Walker.

It wasn't. LSU does not have the NIL power that some of the other top flight programs do. We have to hold the line and focus on recruiting players who want to be a part of something and not just be a mercenary. Guys who are looking for the biggest possible payday are not compatible with this program anyway. If "saying this publicly" runs them off, we don't want them anyway.

I know exactly what he said and I understand it. He basically said that some players are just looking for money and that’s not what we do here. As a high school kid who’s number 1 in his position and has stated that LSU is his dream school yes that all may be true but when another school is offering money you have never seen before it’ll make u reconsider. So yes initially DK Moore stance wasn’t he’s looking to be brought initially he has to max out his value right now and BK isn’t willing to compete financially.
