Sometimes being an adult means being emotionally intelligent and knowing when to get in a physical confrontation with someone or when it’s best to handle something in a different way. You have to have mastery of your emotions. Most people fail at this miserably, unfortunately. What my SILs did is an example of that.
If someone attacks your wife or kids in front of you, you jump in and beat the shite out of them and put that to a stop.
In this scenario, if I go attack these people a year after the cat died, they’re going to all jump in and gang up on me. There’s like 8 of them so I won’t stand a chance. Furthermore, they’ll have me arrested for assault and battery if I do this, and I’ll be the one going to jail and losing my job.
I can’t afford to go to jail and lose my job right now. I have a wife and a child on the way relying on me for financial support. I can go around like an immature, emotionally unstable young buck with nothing to lose.

It may be time to find a new job far away from them all.
