The "inner demons" trope about singers and comics is such bullshite. That's just something the entertainment industry keeps putting out to make themselves appear more deep and profound. I loved Farley, but he wasn't tortured by inner demons to the point of death. He was a fat guy with no self-discipline who liked to get drunk and high. And eat a lot. When Bill the plumber dies of too much alcohol we don't wax poetic about his internal turmoil that pushed him over the edge. But when a singer like Winehouse destroys herself it almost gets portrayed as a noble accomplishment. Fun fact: talented people are irresponsible losers, too.

Sorry to detail the thread, but Farley absolutely has demons. He had massive imposter syndrome and always felt he had to be "on" even if he was with family and friends. Listen to any interview about him, he dealt with terrible depression even before he was a massive star.

As far as Amy Winehouse, I thought the whole deal with her was wasted potential.
