The penalty for a crime can be multi faceted. For felonies or violent crimes, I have no problem with lifetime penalty against gun ownership and lifetime penalty on voting rights, but less than that on incarceration.

They forfeited that inalienable right when they abused it.
Our society is based on forgiveness. If a person is not incarcerated or on parole, that person must have every right of any other. No free man or woman needs the permission of any man or woman of any kind to protect their self, family, or liberty.
Personally, I believe the old forms of punishment in place before gooooooooooooberment got tooooo big for its britches should be in place. A definite trend I have witnessed is soft on punishment for crime equals a lot more crime. Some of these people are committing crimes because the just need 3 hots and a cot.
Wait until the boomers with no retirement plan get real hungry!!

Can you imagine if "shall not be infringed" were followed how much less violence there would be?
I’m all for Constitutional Carry like Louisiana just passed. I think everyone that isn’t a convicted violent criminal should carry.

No. You have philosophical inconsistencies that make you a totalitarian.

You’re not “giving” them anything. Look up inalienable. Do you know the percentage of ppl who plead guilty I.e. no conviction?

Second, rights are inalienable, and once someone has served their time and punishment, ALL rights should be restored. What other rights are you okay with taking away once someone’s sentence is done?
I don’t think someone convicted of molesting children should be allowed to open a daycare. Do you?
Taking away certain rights in perpetuity, including the right to bear arms, should absolutely be an option when it comes to sentencing. But it’s an option—it certainly shouldn’t be done for all felonies.

Well, you've already listed mental health as a second reason you'd be fine with infringement...correct?
If a 21 year old college kid wrote a manifesto about how he was going to commit a mass shooting at his school with details and is arrested for making terroristic threats, do you think they should be able to go buy an AR15 while awaiting trial?

K. So there's at least two. I bet we could find more instances of you willingly giving up your rights.

Should he be incarcerated?

Is opening daycare an unalienable right?
Of course not.
Straw Man.

The right to associate is. Operating a business generally falls under this right, as well as the right to pursue happiness.

This is insanity.
Late to the party here, but with well-defined and very limited exceptions, my thoughts are that they should have 2nd -A. rights.
If someone violates freedom of speech and gets sued or convicted for violent threats or libel, do they then lose the freedom to speak?
Even if you do not agree with some paroled or expunged felons getting their 2nd-A rights back, consistency leads me to allow them that inalienable right as written with strict and explicit exceptions.

Should they be able to buy an AR15 ( the rifle they mentioned killing all those people with in their manifesto)?
