I would argue they have a legal obligation to report from the moment someone from their organization either reviews the tape follows a very odd request to buy hotel security footage and/or they have a duty to at least review the contents of said tape following the very odd request to buy said tape.

Does the hotel really want to go with the defense, “ well yea we sold the tape. But we didn’t look at it before we gave it to Diddy.”

So you are in the business of selling surveillance tape at your hotels to anyone or any guest that requests and is willing to purchase?
