Am I the only one this sounds crazy to?
It isn't unusual at all and the same thing occurs in many ICE engines cars as well. It happens on cars with frameless doors. When the door opens the window drops down about 1/2" to release it from the tight trim fit then when you shut the door it raises back up to make the tight seal. If the battery is dead it has to pull its way past the rubber seal and if you do it enough it will damage that rubber seal. The only car we have now that has frameless windows is my 911 and the window drops and raises that little bit when when opening the door. I have had multiple cars in the past that worked like this.
