Anyone else follow high school football around the New Orleans Area? Have you checked Dandy Don's high school predictions?

Class 5-A

1. West Monroe
2. Thibodaux
3. Byrd
4. Hahnville
5. Acadiana
6. ST Paul
7. Ouachita
8. STM
9. Rummel
10. Brother Martin
10. (tie) Destrehan

Brother Martin at 10 is a joke, and tied with Destrehan no less. They lose so many people. While they will have Swilling and Butler, they have nothing else. Why did Dandy Don even waste his time with this?

Just to break it down...Malcom Sutcleff is arguably the top receiver in the district. RB Dante Butler is the real deal and will be a junior. The quarterback, if I'm not mistaken, started at WR last year and is a pretty good athlete with big game experience. Not too sure about the o-line but BM has the athletes to have an explosive offense. Pittman will still be the d-coordinator and he's one of the best defensive coaches in the state. The secondary might be the best in the state with Karl Butler & Pat Swilling. They have a junior lb who was all-district as a sophomore if im not mistaken. BM desrves that ranking, just need to back it up.

They will still be very good. Pittman is still there, and Bonis imo will prove to be a great head coach. He has done a tremendous job with their offense over the past few seasons. They lose Hilliard at running back, but Dante Butler is a stud.

Brother Martin, along with Shaw and Rummel should contend for the district title.

Speaking of BM, I know they play Mac 35 & O.P. Walker, but who else do they play non-district?

I don't know about top to bottom, at the top yes 2A is defiantly better but a school like Jesuit would still take down some of the mid to upper tier 2A teams.

Destrehan being ranked as a tie for 10th is pretty funny I would say.

I put it here for two reasons.
1.I thought I would get more feedback here.
2.Talking about the different teams is basically talking about possible recruits.

I think Shaw will win district next year. In all seriousness, all that needs to be replaced are wide receivers(all that got any playing time graduated), one middle linebacker spot, one secondary spot, and some D-line depth will need to be found. Theres only about 5 seniors that really have to be replaced. Look for Breaud to have a big year.

That was my biggest point. I am not sure, but for some reason I remember reading somewhere that Destrehan has put more players in the NFL than any other high school.

I agree with this, but still believe BM deserves a top 10 ranking.

Since we're on the subject of the Catholic League, is Keiser on a short leash at Jesuit yet?

No it isn't. Look up the definition of competitive. 2A is the least competitive out of all classes except for maybe 1A.

2A is Curtis and everybody else. While there are very good teams in 2A, nobody is on Curtis' level. Don't say Evangel because they are a shell of their former self.

5A is extremely competitive.
