SEC freshman of the year

SEC Champion

He wasn't here long enough.

The only way that would be remotely possible is if he turns into some legendary NBA player.

thats what i thought would stop him i loved watching him

For one year's contribution? I think the bar has to be set a bit higher

i'm 100% sure its not required although it may be a clincher. Pete Maravich isn't an LSU graduate. You're thinking Hall of Fame

If LSU plans to retire another number in basketball though, it has to be #32 Howard Carter.

I liked Hi-C when he was at LSU but the only basketball player worthy of the honor right now is Chris Jackson.

Hmmm..

unless they just let Pete by anyways I've always heard you had to be a grad for the LSU Hall of Fame. Hence why Maravich isn't officially in it which is pointless and petty...

I dunno. I'd say there is a definite argument for Davis. His chances are actually better than Jackson considering how insane he is now.

He is kind of a persona non grata right now.

You're both correct. Chris, despite his crazy talent is not the favorite son he once was.

There don't need to be any other basketball numbers retired at this moment. We don't need to be like Duke and UNC who has anyone who ever had any sort of success hanging from the rafters.

I think LSU had 2 of the same numbers retired(out on the old Alex Box wall)

False, you have to be a graduate OR play at the school for four years.

And the only numbers that are retired are 20 in football, 15 in baseball, and 23, 33, and 50 in basketball. The others - 37 in football, 19 in baseball, 40 in basketball, and 33 in women's basketball - are all simply "jersey retirements" and there is nothing stopping these numbers from being worn in the future.

No worries...these rules are quite confusing.
