The correct pronunciation is Alex with the 'x'

This comes straight from the family and the ath dept.

Am I wrong? I thought this was all settled at the dedication of the new stadium....

I thought the family wanted Alex with 'x'. .????

I hear alot of the older folk say Alec. My sons name is Alex and all my dads side of the family says Alec and it does kinda aggravate me but for some reason I do catch myself calling it Alec box alot more then Alex.

It is pronounced ALEC. That's how the Box family pronounces it. If it's good enough for them it should be good enough for you.
I heard from a family source that Edwards wants his first name pronounced with a "c" too.
Maybe it's like how Joe Thiesman (Theesman) changed the pronouncation of his name to rhyme with Heisman.
If this is your biggest worry, count your blessings.

I pronounce it with an X....

Older folks around Alexandria do call it "Ellik" and I think that is where the alternate pronunciation comes from...just drives me nuts...
