The all day beans that you manually smash for thickness are better, but in a pinch this thing will put out pretty good red beans.

You can do it in a solid hour including prep if you are cutting all your own vegetables. If you buy the pre-chopped onions, celery, bell peppers at the store, 45 min max. You can saute the veggies in the instantpot, then just add beans, sausage, water, bay leaf, tasso and hit the "beans" button. Cook rice on the side. Wait 45 minutes and bleed off the pressure. Done.
