My drinking buddy neighbor, we've been having a hoot with it.

Has a go-pro and some serious range, it's badass.

Been wanting a phantom for a while. Let me ask you, what's the signal between the drone and phone/tablet...Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?

Basically, my question is, if you don't have a cell signal, are you SOL?

I've had one for about 4 years now. Mine operates thru an app on my touchscreen. It took me about 20 flights to get the hang of it. I hope the people who got them this year got ones with game style controllers.

I have a phantom 4. Doesn't matter about cell signal. Just need wifi to your phone or tablet you are flying with. They are pricey but I use it for work and the video/picture is awesome. They really aren't hard to fly in beginner mode.

Got one today. Definitely going to come in handy when I want to spy on your mom showering.

Apparently my neighbor got one for Christmas because my son told me he came over this morning and asked to get it out of our back yard.

Just don't get it stuck way up in a tree or drop it in a body of water. Also not sure how it would handle a rough landing on concrete

I have a cheap ($50) little radio shack drone that I fly all the time, and there's been a few times it's gotten out of range on accident and fell straight to the ground from 40+ feet. It always survives somehow, the most I've had to do is replace a propeller that simply flew off the shaft on impact. They're built to withstand quite a bit.

Went hunting this week with a guy that had a Mavic DJi drone. Was bad arse. Flew out to his crawfish ponds checking on birds while in his deer stand
Thing damn near flies itself
4k video. 27 min run time. 4.5 miles range. 40mph. Folds up to small compact case
