Do they stand up the whole time at a gas station? I'd think I'd rather sit at a diner when I'm older.

I love it how they all shut up when I pass by them. Like I care what old men have to say.

The Dead Peckers Club Meets at McDonalds in Ville Platte on Saturday mornings.
There is a small group that meets at the Ynot Stop Shell station as well.
Im not sure if they are rivals or what.

My Grandpa used to go to a gas station in a nearby town (he lives about 10 miles from the nearest town) every morning for coffee and to BS with friends. I'm not sure if he still does that.
He used to go to the bar pretty much every day to play cards, too. Or the volunteer fire dept to have a few beers (yes you read that right) He's been retired for 35+ years, sounds like a pretty awesome life

The gas station that my grandpa frequents has a few tables in it, and I think it serves biscuits or other breakfast foods.

Or chain restaurants for that matter
I think McDonalds has senior citizen discount, and they get a bottomless cup of coffee for like a quarter.

Jac's Market and Cafe aka the Chevron station in Youngsville has a group called the Potheads that meet every morning. Police Chief joins them as well.

Is there a spot (usually a gas station it seems) that the old men gather every morning to BS and drink coffee?
Yeah, at typical diners (Dot's Diner, Waffle House, Huddle House).

I don't understand the appeal of gas stations for these old man meet ups. Or chain restaurants for that matter. Most towns have a locally owned diner/breakfast spot
I am 62, retired, and meet with a group once a week, we are not meeting at those places for the food or the coffee, when you become one of us it will all make sense.

There's a group that meets every Saturday morning at the CCs on Coursey.
They are loud enough to make reading a good book a bit difficult, but they seem to be having a great time so good on them.
