I’m interested to see what it’s going to look like after Trump does a rally with him. Supposedly it’s happening this month?

Could be a get out the vote effort by the Dems
The fact that it's under 10% is actually good news for them.

There is no fricking way the nutjob running for governor for the dems is cracking 40% and there is no fricking way a few hundred thousand people are going to split the ticket to vote for both Abbott and the fake Mexican.

You have to remember....

Bill White was going to beat Rick Perry.

He lost by nearly 10%.

Wendy Davis was going to shock the world.

She was crushed by large double digits.

Races in Texas spur national attention in the hope that they can will a Dem win through positive press.

Bottom line, they are a few million away from making Texas purple. What they are failing to realize, is that not everyone they are counting on is voting for them.

Lupe is one of the worse candidates to ever run for governor in any state period! She was a sacrificial lamb because there was nobody taking down Abbott. He might win be 20 points again.

Here in Houston, Cruz is beating him over the head with his vote against Harvey relief. I know he did it as a protest against the Republicans, but it's terrible optics in an area where he could gain.

Cruz is contrasting it with all that he did for Harvey relief, which many likely Dem voters remember.

It's having a pretty significant effect.

I don’t follow local Texas politics so I didn’t know he voted this way on flood relief. It’s amazing that he didn’t have the intelligence to realize this was going to come back to bite him in the arse.

Beto is a known drunk, womanizing criminal, and his sins are coming out at an awkward time. He's collateral damage in the puritanical crusade against Kavanaugh at the moment. Some will come back to him once the statute of limitations on hypocrisy runs out, but he'll still lose handily to Lion Ted.

Not only was it stupid for optics for the victims, it's actually humanizing Cruz.

That was Cruz's biggest weakness. The commercials running are showing Cruz as a caring human. Everyone here remembers the TV video where one woman kept Cruz for 10 minutes crying at the GRB shelter, and him praying with her, when his aides were trying to get him away. He stayed with her, and even the most ardent Cruz haters, if they saw that, can say his Harvey position was anything but fake.

Then, you see Beto voting no for relief.

Beto's being beat over the head with pro-Cruz TV ads. Running 247. Beto luvs illegals, luvs druggies, hates ICE, and voted against hurricane disaster relief.

Honestly I split my time 50/50 between Austin and Houston and I think the complete opposite. I see 2 Beto commercials for every 1 Cruz.

Up until about 3 weeks ago, there were NO Cruz ads.

Since then, Cruz has been pounding him. Some ads I don't think are too effective, but the Harvey ads recently are brutal.

Beta’s latest ad was a “mea culpa” without specifics - obvious that ads showing his eminent domain land grab in El Paso for daddy, the flee-the-scene DWI lie, and voting to screw Houstonians out of hurricane relief were getting to him.

It was the ad of a campaign on a salvage mission.

Nah. Only republicans need to live up to puritanical ideals. Progress Privilege means never having to answer to you wrongdoings.
