I love wheel of time - one if my favorites and I've read most of the books multiple times. It does have some problems in the way the female characters are portrayed and is overly descriptive in some instances. That said the scope and thought put into the world building and history is second ti none.

The first book is kind of basic and the story doesn't really come into it's own until the end of book 2. But books 3 through like 7 or 8 is definitely up there as my favorite stretch of anything I've read. The author got sick and the story got too big and there are 3 or so books where it kind of bogs down- but it wraps up well after Brandon Sanderson took over when Jordan passed away.

What’s wrong with the female characters??

This is my absolute favorite series of all time. I have read them all at least 3 times some more, and the only issues I have is the ending and feel like Jordan would have and should have finished to the best of his ability. Then endings with th characters just didn’t play the parts as I really thought they were and the way Jordan portrayed their importance.

Mat an Perrin just didn’t play the parts they were supposed to imo as the genius general with all of the greatest minds ever all swimming in his head and ties with the seachan just soooooo disappointed in Sanderson input and how he wrote it, was just rushed and I understand that it’s not his series but damn, the ending hurt and made me sad didn’t build up with the climax I expected…

Other then the ending though I loved all the characters
