It’s FromSoftware at its most confident, at its most unapologetic. It’s Bloodborne but faster, with fewer crutches yet somehow more fair. It’s also one of the best games released so far in what’s already looking like a strong 2019.

I’m now several hours in, and I cannot stop thinking about it now that I’ve torn myself away for a moment.

Sekiro refines the Dark Souls gameplay, adding stealth mechanics and a perfect combat system based on evading and parring attacks. The japanese setting, art style and open map design complete an amazing game, which, again, can be too difficult for some players. Review in process.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice continues FromSoftware’s dominance, showcasing that it’s on another level when it comes creating action games in fantastical worlds. You’re going to die, and you’re go die a lot. But these brilliant gameplay systems that come together to form experiences that we don’t see in other triple-A games is why people get excited for what Hidetaka Miyazaki is doing at FromSoftware.
quote:
Mechanically, it’s simply one of the best, most playable and most rewarding video games to be released this, or any other generation. The level at which From Software is operating in crafting Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is absolutely mind-boggling.
quote:
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an intelligent reinvention of the tried and true SoulsBorne formula. It successfully manages to strike a delectable balance between difficult and enjoyable, without the frustrating moments players might’ve experienced in Dark Souls or Bloodborne. Owing to its fast-paced combat that rewards an aggressive approach, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is both fulfilling and satisfying and easily the best of FromSoftware’s games yet.

Has anyone ever played a Souls game on PC?
Do they control well with mouse and keyboard or is a controller the way to go?

I’ve killed everything that has walked or crawled in soulsborne universe. Tonight I come for you (insert Sekiro hardest boss name here)

Another game that punishes you for playing, from the studio that just apparently hates fun.
Played DS 1 for like 30 minutes, then realized I don't play video games to be tortured. A challenge? Sure. Punishment? No thanks.
Real life has enough strife and stress. Don't need more when I play a video game.

Well finished off sword saint and demon of hatred. Both took a little time to get down. Cheers to my fellow Shinobi

Carson any tips for Demon of Hatred? I can basically get thru the first phase most time no damage. Second phase I typically have to ressurect because of his absurd range.
It's just such a long fight and I'm trying to stay aggressive but I don't have the fire umbrella which I feel would really help

I’m already at ishin the sword saint. Is it too late to get the second hirata memory? I’m trying to get the last two prayer beads. Thanks.

Finished up chained ogre, horse guy, drunkard, and lady butterfly. Whats next? Castle area I'm assuming? Lady Butterfly phase 2 was brutal.

Doing an almost 3 year necro bump... but I picked this game up instead of Elden Ring - I just beat Owl (Father) last night and then proceeded to 2 try to Corrupted Monk Super glad I did Owl (Father) before Corrupted Monk. I've seen online a lot of people complaining about the "true" corrupted Monk and with the things I learned on Owl (Father) it just kinda clicked, and the Monk just ended up being a lot easier I think.
I know I only have like 2-3 more "real" bosses left and maybe a mini boss or two, I'm kinda sad to see it finishing up. This has been my favorite From Software game since Bloodborne and honestly might have surpasses BB in gameplay, BB only beating it now because of the Setting and DLC.
I'm going to save scum to get the 3 endings (I have all of the items needed for all 3 severence endings) and then probably quickly playing through NG+ for the Shura ending.
Been an amazing game, also been fun reading through this thread so long after the fact.
