Love to hear some reviews with people on here before I get it. No pre order bonus so no point in me pre ordering it.

Game does not play like a Souls game at all. There are some Soul'esque mechanics here and there, but they really did a great job creating something completely different.
Early thoughts after about 12 hours.
1. Your character is insanely mobile, there's no stamina anymnore, so you can pretty much sprint, spam attacks, jump, and hookshot around continually. You're almost Spiderman with a sword.
2. All combat is based around the concept of "killing blows", the goal is to get the enemey in a vulnerable state and then you do a killing blow and it one-shots them to death (bosses require multiple "killing blows" though). The more efficient and skilled you are at combat, the easier you can get them vulnerable. There's essentially a "poise" meter and once you get them fully unbalanced, they are open for a crit. Stealth kills do a kill blow instantly.
3. Way more stealth centric than I thought it would be, makes sense since you're a ninja I guess and ties into #2. Being able to take out dangerous mobs with one hit is nice, especially if you suck at the regular combat, like I currently do.
4. It's hard as shite.
You have basically no health and very scarce healing items. You're really not supposed to get hit.
The very few item shops I've found sell items in limited quantities, so you can't grind and stock up on items if you're struggling.
There's no leveling to get stronger. Your "experience" points are used to buy new skills. Your tangible stats (HP and attack power, etc.) only go up by killing bosses. This also means you can't grind levels if you're struggling.
You (almost always) lose 1/2 of your gold and experience to the next skill point if you die. There's no opportunity to go back and retrieve like in past Souls game.
The bosses attack very fast and with huge ranges. They're extremely aggressive which fits in with the fast pace of the game.
5. Many of the mini-bosses are just in the world like regular mobs, which gives you a lot of creatively in how you approach them and where you choose to fight them. It also means that you usually have to deal with trash mobs around them too.
6. I kinda suck right now. All my expertise with the Soulsborne games isn't helping me for shite. The style of combat is so different.
I just spent over an hour downing this one particular boss on horseback, probably took me 30 tries. It was so hard at first I figured it was a gimmick boss and I didn't know the gimmick. But all my other paths in the game were blocked by even harder shite, so I just buckled down and did it, crazy hard fight.
