I think it could be like the tv premier thread on the movie board. Start one thread a few weeks before the masters asking for people to post spring course reports. I think it can be a good resource through the summer. And then let it die. It may just need some time. The other alternative is Chappy’s monthly WYP/WYS thread. Course reports could go in there too.

A monthly or seasonal thread may work.

Course conditions change so often that a thread where the last response is s few months old isn’t exactly helpful.

Maybe instead of course conditions could be course reviews. And if conditions are added to the review threads it may work better.

We can give it some time to see what happens.

Atchafalaya is looking great. Aerified the fairways this week, plus 14,000 pounds of fertilizer went out.

Greens rolling smooth, quick and true.

Come out and enjoy the great weather this weekend.

A lot of courses will be aerifying starting next week. Its typically a slow week or so for most not all courses after Memorial Day. Schools let out and people leave on vacation so its generally a good time to get some course maintenance in.

The thought was that you'd come in the stickied thread, find the course you were inquiring of, then bump the course thread and ask the conditions.

This thread isn't really intended to discuss individual courses or really anything in general, other than to prompt me that there is a course missing.

At least that's how I saw this thread working.

Agreed.

This doesn't seem to be working out well.

I think it works great!

#3 at Atchafalaya Golf Course.

Come say high to the guy with a shaved head and beautiful blonde beard.

Please be sure to repair divots and ball marks.

You can see #3 green in the above picture.

You could also pop over to GolfNow and secure a tee time.

The choice is yours and yours alone.

I'll put some up tomorrow AM. I'll even show you my first edition Kmart putter. Its going to sink more putts than you've banged sluts when I see you at LaTour.

That green is pretty hard to see in that long distance photo.

I live in Kansas so this is an easy thread for me. Every course anywhere around me is going to have to trade in their golf carts for canoes by the end of Memorial Day weekend. I haven't had a day off where it wasn't raining since before Easter.

Played Grand Ridge this morning for the first time in a few years. Greens were in good condition surprisingly fast, they used to always be somewhat soft and slow. Lots of the older trees that prevented grass in the fairways from growing are gone and the sand traps were actually decent. It will take a few years for the fairways to be good but the work they are doing on drainage, tree removal, and irrigation is heading in the right direction. Tee boxes need work, many holes used temporary tee boxes. It was worth the $26 bucks. Not sure when they will be punching and sanding the greens but as it gets hotter they will need more water or they will be very hard.
