For anyone headed to Oxford this weekend for the baseball games, I am in the Knights of Columbus at St. Johns Catholic Church. We have fish fries every Friday during Lent. The Church is located on University Ave. right next to the campus and very close to the baseball fields. The Fish Fry is from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Come get some fish, fries, hush puppies and slaw before the game. We are within easy walking distance of the ball park. Geaux Tigers and beat Ole Miss.

I used to live in Oxford. Graduated from LSU in 91. Good place to live except when Ole Miss wins its first few games in any sport. Then they are convinced it’s 1962 or so again.

Fr. Joe at St. John’s is a good dude, he’s small of stature but he deals with all the Oxpatch nonsense admirably.

It's the KofC Walt, they do NOTHING without beer. Tapping kegs begins with the first worker through the door. The bottled and canned beer has been in the cooler since Saturday morning replenishing what was sold last Friday.

I once went to a softball tournament/fair at the Catholic church in Bayou Pigeon.

The church ladies were selling cold beers from iced bins, and the priest was pouring shots of Crown Royal on the back steps of the church.

Three piece is $7 and four piece is $8. There are family to go boxes that feed four people for $30. Sorry, no beer for sale.

Will there be any hush puppies or sides?

Maybe other options like an el Diablo sandwich

No el Diablo. You do get french fries, hush puppies, slaw and a drink with each meal.
