thanks

dry red wine is a probiotic, as is a shot of tequila per day

Merck and Pfizer probably don't want you to know that

Most of your immune system is plugged into your gut, and the intestinal flora plays a large role in maintaining immunological homeostasis - and alterations in the ecological makeup of those flora contribute to immune dysregulation.

Alcohol alters the structural integrity of those bacterial communities, both in terms of quantity and the specific ecological makeup. Not only that, but alcohol exposure directly damages T-cells and neutrophils in your gut. Along with inducing undue inflammation.

If you're truly impassioned about promoting your immunological health, you should probably go ahead and shelve the alcohol. Have a few grapes instead if you want the polyphenols.

I have tried a few probiotics and the cheap pill ones didn't do anything for me, but the liquid one that you keep in the fridge changed my life.

I had very bad gut health even though I eat super healthy and work out 5 days a week.

Vitamin D

Exactly. Get a vitamin D supplement. Not a multi, but a true Vitamin D3 supplement. Take 5000 IU a day.

Too much Vitamin C can promote kidney stone formation. How do I know — up to 45 and counting.

I agree.
Remember the whole "Vitamin C can cure anything" craze?

Probiotics have been shown to do nothing in studies.

People with healthy guts have been shown to have amazing immune systems.

Health problems clearing up have been linked to a healthy gut. He's not saying Probiotics will stop a virus but your body theoretically is in a better position to combat it.

Vitamin C needs to be replenished daily if you drink a lot of water because, as with all water soluble supplements, as well as natural vitamins you receive through normal diet intake, you lose them quickly.

Oil based, like A and E and even D .... notsomuch. They can be stored by your body.

Vitamin C would have to be taken in massive amounts to cause kidney stones and, even then, only certain types might cause the problem .... I'm not sure that's been proven.

If you smoke cigarettes or weed or do any number of other things like consume mass quantities of liquor or beer then you need a vitamin C supplement or added vitamin C in your diet.

I mean we could get really deep into this because there has to be balance when it comes to everything and some things can cancel other things .... but most of us do not get everything we need from today's modern GMO fast food based culture.
