Since working at Bowie, I have had to mount several scopes with the rings we have. Cheapest I would go is DNZ.

I recommend a Weaver one piece base and Burris Z rings, the ones w/ plastic inserts. Only scope set up I’ve used for 20 yrs. The potential problem w/ one piece rings/base is lack of flexibility. One may not be able to position scope properly fore and aft since one can’t mount the rings in different positions. In my experience, the set up I mentioned is plenty strong and reliable.

Leupold, those clunky one-piece mounts look like shite.

I use Talley rings & bases on everything now. I started using them on Weatherby Magnum rifles.

I've never had a problem with Warne on my deer rifles (30-06 and .280) or my .50 cal muzzleloader.

DNZ.

I don't understand the complaint that the scope won't be positioned correctly on a 1-piece. They offer different eye reliefs and different heights. That plus the usable length of the scope lets you put it anywhere you want.

For a heavy recoil guns like the 35 Whelen, or worse, one piece rings are awesome.
