As far as music HOFs go, the Country Music HOF is pretty legit. Definitely unlike the RocknRoll HOF.
These folks are from the same area of Sand Mountain that my parents/grandparents etc. are from, but I never heard any of my folks talk about them. They are all gone now so I can't ask anyone who would have personal knowledge, but I would think my grandparents would have at least known them casually.
Boaz AL was not exactly a big city 80-100 years ago, my paternal grandfather owned a pretty significant amount of farmland, and has a road named for him that bisected his farm back in the day right off of US HWY 431.
The Maddox life story is a good one too.
