All you need to see. Bullet holes are at the front door. No Davidians are on the second floor firing down on the ATF. There was no ambush.

They had a horriable plan.
Executed a horriable plan.
A lot of people, even the ones they claimed to want to protect lost their lives.
Simple solution would have been to pick the leader up in town way before things went this far.

Yall do realize the ATF didn't have anything to do with that deal after the first initial shootout? It was the FBI that showed up, took over, handled the long stand off and eventually initiated the final confrontation that resulted in all the deaths. FBI doesn't talk about it and likes that people blame the ATF for that event.

Because the Ruby Ridge incident was like 12 months earlier. As soon the ATF initiated the initial shooting, ATF was going to bear the brunt of the responsibility. But, you're 100% correct. The FBI took over and decided to use tear gas, which ultimately started the fire that killed all those people.

Yeah, yeah but the people inside deserved it because the Feds heard rumors of child abuse!

There was a track record in recent years of the tear gas ending in fires. What did they do? Pumped it full of a tremendous amount.
They had chances to grab Koresh plenty of times and their own agent told them the raid would end in failure. The feds bungled this so badly and as a consequence, killed a bunch of women and kids.

Well said. Absolutely correct!

Because ATF has jurisdiction over local child abuse cases

ATF HQ
@ATFHQ
We remember the fallen agents: Special Agent Conway LeBleu, Special Agent Todd McKeehan, Special Agent Robert Williams, and Special Agent Steven Willis who made the ultimate sacrifice while trying to execute a search warrant.

76 civilians died, including 2 pregnant women and 25 children because you MFers wanted to break out your fancy smancy combat gear and play army, and you want to remember the agents who died doing it, but don’t want to remember you are the ones who killed those people in the process?

Man, frick you.

Ill never forget how sick that made me seeing that.

IIRC, part of the problem was that the ATF had a budget review coming up and they wanted a big flashy case to show why they were necessary and should be funded more.

So they went in commando style to try and make a big bust when they could have secured Koresh elsewhere. And it got a ton of people on both sides killed, but they still got their funding.

Uhh, there were survivors.

Still, the ATF nor the FBI should not be memorializing the event.

Correct. Koresh was a regular around town. He wasn't hiding from anyone.

I know people get emotional when discussing this event, but facts should still have a place.

Something like 20 children were released and around 10 people escaped when the fire started.

Conway was a friend of mine. To call these men murderers is completely unjust. These men were trying to serve a search warrant on a complete nut that was hoarding illegal weapons and molesting children.

This, the local sheriff spoke to him at the grocery store 2 days before, but the Feds didn’t go through local authorities...
