Playing in a few weeks. My buddies really suck at golf. How much are they going to hate this course?

Have them play the shortest men's tees..and bring a lot of balls as they might need dem. They might not appreciate how nice the course is based on losing a dozen balls but its truly a nice track.

They aren't going to have fun at all. Water and trees everywhere and they'll at least 3 putt every green.

A guy that legitimately shoots 100 would shoot 120 out there

As others have indicated, it’s not a place for hackers to go for a fun round of golf. If you do go, you should probably have a max triple score so you don’t hold up the entire course.

Really nice course but legitimately one of the hardest courses around.

It’s very nice and very difficult. The first time I played I hit what I thought was a great tee shot to start the round. When I got to my ball I honestly didn’t know where to hit my second shot. There really wasn’t a safe spot to hit. Bunkers and water pretty much at every distance.

Good luck…

This. Once you check it off the bucket list and play it a few times, it pisses you off because it for sure does not reward good shots that usually end up bad. You really need to be 100% on your approach game and know the greens to enjoy a good round out there. I bet Mystic even eats scratch golfers lunch.

Approach shots are pretty tough. There are a few greens where a ball can barely roll off the green and end up in the water. There are several elevated greens where the ball can barely roll off the green and end up 25 yards away with a nasty flop shot required. And the greens are normally pretty damn slick with a lot of slope, so it can be tough to keep a ball on the green.

Leave your pride at home. Don’t try the tips or the one-up tees the first time you are there. A ULM golfer set the course record this spring with a 66 I believe . . . he followed it up the next day with an 85 or 86.

The tips are out for sure, but the 1 ups are bad too? Damn!

Pretty much all of this. I hit some really nice shots into several greens that should have been good but since I don't know the greens at all, one backed up into the water and the other pretty much rolled right off the green. I am a decent golfer but in no way can I be so precise as to target shoot particular areas of a green for a ball to hold and more importantly know where to aim in just 2 or 3 rounds out there. You either need to play this course a lot to enjoy it on a scoring level, or suck it up as you are gonna get your arse handed to you but hey you are playing a great course, or they should have caddies like they do at Blue Jack here in Houston to assist.

Heck, most days I am lucky if I can even land it on the green at all.
