He has more resources available to him since the Natty, so no. But a divorce, and a very young team doesn’t help.

O is the same person he’s always been. Recruiter, motivator, and manager. He’s never been a tactician and where he screwed up is insisting that moving to the even front was the way to go. Football is not played the way it was when Miami and usc were wrecking it back in the 90s/00s so thinking changing to that model was going to bring the same success will go down as one of the all time boneheaded moves in coaching. S&C and compliance are also issues but that’s for another thread.

That’s fair! He built a great team, but wasn’t ready for continuing the success into the next year.
