I had some friends that had moved to Minneapolis after graduating from LSU and they kept the heat on 59F during the winter because they could not afford the heating bill. Later they moved to Little Rock.

I know some people up there and they literally dread the winter. They stay inside for days at a time without leaving the house

I agree it is a miserable place to live as far as weather and culture is very woke.
Still snows at times at the end of April.
Oct/Nov the weather starts getting cold and good luck until end of April or at times the middle of May.
I bought a home next to my son to watch my grandkids in the summer when they are out of school. He moved to the South for a better job opportunity.
Full of white liberal women who have nothing better to do. They will also tell you how diverse they are and how racist you are as you are from the South.
I am glad I sold my place.
I got tired of people who live in a sheltered white liberals life, telling me how I am not diverse being from the South.
Yes, again the weather sucks.

Family in Chanhassen and we went up for cancelled Mardi Gras this year. High while there 10. Low was -17 with wind chill of -30.
Could not take months of those temps.

Best one was my former neighbors, would let you know she had a degree in women's studies. She would call me racist, just because I lived in the South 8 months out of the year.
Then if you asked her where the nearest Wal-mart was.
She would say do not go to that one too many undesirables go there.
That Wal-mart was actually fine, just busy similar in demographics to the College Drive Wal-mart.
FYI, anytime you go to a place where a is rod hanging above a fire hydrant you know that area gets alot of snow.

It's actually one of the nicer suburbs up there. A lot of which are red. A for the cold, I spent a week up there when the temperature didn't get above 0°. So cold that I had to reheat a fresh pizza I had picked up from 2 blocks away. I've also made the Florida-Upper Midwest move. I could tolerate Minnesota weather (the most annoying thing is the mosquitos those 10,000 lakes spawn in summer) but it was brutal going from sun roof open on a normal January day one year to the first 40° the next. Every other word in my head has 4 letters.
Having lived here for over a decade I'd happily return to Minnesota. (I think I could stomach the colder weather too.) Probably will move there if Little Dawg gets offered by The U. Thankfully the socialist parts of the suburbs have made themselves known if such a move will take place.
