Dellinger is a true freshmen going against a 6 year senior who will play in the NFL next year. You are an idiot. It wasn't effort or lack of.It was a mam going agaist a boy.

So the numbers were better in max protect than in 5? Wasn't clear about the OP's first statement.

Dellinger was our pre-season 3rd team LT behind Rosenthal and Wire. It was a mis-match. But our offense design didn't help him out at all.

But the “spread it out” vs add a blocker strategy is what fans have been demanding forever. The QB needs to be able to process the fronts and let the ball go in those situations.

He’s completing nearly 70% of his passes with adjusted completion close to 80% I believe, with only one pick, over half his TD’s and I think lost of his yards in 5 man protections.

No, the exact opposite. They were much worse

Peetz ruined Max....the confidence and poise he played with against florida and OM last year is gone.... His mechanics and decision making have regressed. Peetz did not scheme for his QB AT ALL

Fixed it for you. Dellinger's performance on Saturday night in the 4th quarter was the worst effort I've seen out of an offensive tackle in a long, long time.

Dellinger is not a LT, he is a Guard. Run blocking wise, he had K. Thomas (#58) did very well run blocking. In fact, Thomas has started the last 3 games and played well. Kudo's to Coach Davis for finally getting him into playing condition. Dellinger was up against a high NFL draft pick, could have kept a TE on that side, LSU used lots of 1 TE / 3 WR personnel to help out.

I know the internet coaches, significant portion of them might disagree, but the 2nd best coach on O's staff from 2016 to 2019 was Steve "Slinger" Ensminger. O had many problems in the Executive decision making area as HC and one of them was listening to the Internet and not keeping Ensminger around. First and foremost, E was a guy that O trusted.

I’m not a coach or a player, just a fan…but I’ve a hard time blaming a QB for anything when it’s painfully obvious the OC isn’t cutting it. It starts at the top.

His ball protection has been really good because most QB's would have a lot of fumbles with that many sacks

Max might not suck, but he definitely isn’t great right now.

There were a lot of sacks that was just him holding into the ball with no feel for pressure
It’s been like that all year.

Yep. Max has pretty completion and TD/INT numbers because he usually doesn’t throw with anticipation/progress through his reads quickly, Which leads to him eating the football more than he should.

At the same time, our offense was often disjointed. I don’t think Peetz did him any favors. I hope Max stays to compete for the job in 2022.

Peetz is the weakest link on this team. Dude was not ready to be an OC and its painfully obvious.

I"m now imagining this team with Ensminger still as our OC. It's crazy the seemingly small differences that would have been a huge impact. At a minimum, we beat Arkansas and Auburn. Maybe 1 /3 between UCLA, Ole miss, and Bama. Then we'd be looking at a 10 win season with a win the bowl.

Still hoping Woodward kills it with this hire because it honestly won't take much for us to be contenders again IMO

Yep, add a 1st rd RB who can catch the ball, another NFL WR, and an abv avg CFB TE. Stars were aligned.

And 3 OL drafted.

I totally agree. I know the guy and he's really smart, and was a good coach. His absence was sorely missed this year
