Based on the games I have played…

Sekiro/souls, Final Fantasy 16, and Nier.

Others have mentioned bayonetta but I have never played that.

Awesome. Never played Nier but I’ve played every Souls game and FF 16 which I love them all.

Sekiro is the only Souls game I haven’t beaten haha

Then I would say with 100% certainty that you will really enjoy Stellar Blade

Brah…I took a left out of xion in the wasteland. Down some tight corridor…and into a small arena with dead bodies and a case. shite got spicy. I’ll have to beat that tomorrow.
Ran into that today and the only reason I won was because of this post.

Was not expecting that.

This.

More Nier with Sekiro parry.

Not fast-paced enough to fit in the Bayonetta class.

Almost done with most side quest in the first wasteland/Xion. Pretty addictive. I just want all the outfits and the vitcoins to buy them haha.

Hit a sick combo last night while fighting those spawns and tentacles. 3 enemies in close proximity. Dodge a tentacle with a back flip into the two other enemies who each got met with a perfect parry for the final blow. It was one of the more satisfying instances of combat I have ever had playing a game. So fluid.

The game has been sitting around 9.2/9.3 user score in metacritic which puts it as one of the top 3 highest rated PS5 games.

Crazy considering this game was not even on my radar prior to the demo.

I have completely abandoned Rebirth for the time being and I’m two chapters from beating it.

Alright, the Gigas in the wasteland is fricking rocking me!

I cannot get the timing down.

He covers so much of the screen and his attacks are either right after each other or involve a slight pause which throws me off.

Think he got me twice. The second time I had a revive that put me over the top. So technically he got me 3 times.

I did do a big SP dump into the shield breaking beta and increased its power and used it on him instead of the other moves. I kept the fight pretty close because the move requires it. So just hung in close. Tried to parry/combo as much as I could to build that beta.

Finally got him using extra items, such as grenades.

I itch everyday. Usually get about 2 hours at night and it’s never enough. Just spent all of last night collecting cans in the wasteland.

Did see an article yesterday that the game became the highest user rated PS5 game of all time.

I think it’s a testament to how shitty the gaming industry has been the last few years. Not that stellar blade isn’t deserving. It is. But it shows people just want fun/unique games….with sexy females haha. Notice nobody is bitching about a female leads in a game….just a certain group that think she’s too hot, should have purple hair, and weigh 300lbs.

Finished it last night. 4 out of 5 game for me. Really mechanically satisfying, highly polished and optimized. Hindered a bit by too many MMO sidequests, less than ideal localization and writing, and lack of environmental variety. The game operated at its best during its one-off linear levels.

Last act is the best part of the game for sure. Balls to the wall action with all kinds of "holy shite" moments and badass sequences. It honestly felt like a whole different game than the first 2 acts, and tbh I kinda wish the whole game was like it. Give me 12-15 linear levels with all kinds of spectacles and setpieces and jaw dropping segments, a hub city or two that you visit in between levels, 1-2 open chapters in more open areas that allow exploration, and bam, you have a masterpiece formula. Felt like they realized this later in development and really locked in. Bosses at the end actually get pretty difficult too (didn't die to any of them until the last bunch).

Good to hear! I can’t wait!

I pretty much agree with you based on what I have done so far. I’m looking forward to what they do next. I’d have to imagine they will do a second after the success of this one. I believe this game was very close to being a masterpiece.

The whole dead space thing I mentioned earlier was a change of pace out of nowhere and I was unsure how I felt about it at the very start but by the end of it is was like okay….that was fun! I wouldn’t mind if they sprinkled that in here and there.

Minor movement issues when going all parkour at times can be a little frustrating but I have played so many games that I could say the same about.

I also feel like not everything needs to be “open world” in games these days. I feel this game would do well with a Bloodborne type layout.

Yes, exactly

Yeah they really need to touch up the platforming. There are some sections later that are a bitch because of the controls

Have today off and I’m taking advantage.

In the Dead Space part. Interesting change of pace.

The Dead Space section was fun. Sad part for me though is I hadn’t unlocked much of the gun’s abilities yet. Only had basic slugs, rockets, and the charge beam.

Story seems to be playing out somewhat like I thought.

Finishing up as many side quests in wastelands as possible before heading to Matrix 11.

Just finished beating the Brute at the bottom of the pit. Decent fight. Died twice.

Also beat the corrupter that randomly pops up.
