Thicker grips: any pros or cons?

I have some arthritis in my hands so I’m thinking about “thicker grips.”
Will I notice 1/8 inch of midsize?
Do I go “jumbo?”
I can miss it both ways so I’ve got that going for me.

I use the MCC Midsize +4. I have noticed a difference. I feel more in control of the club. Also, my hands dont ache after a round.

I use a thicker grip on my driver and notice it's made me less wristy in the swing. I've generally driven it straighter with a thicker grip

Wont go back after going to midsize. I think it helps if you come from a baseball background. The club feels more familiar in my hands.

Thanks for the input guys.
I’m going to give it a try.
It’s time to regrip anyway so I’ll go midsize.

Might tend to leave the face open if you don’t have bigger hands

I would think you may have a slight drop in club speed but that's about it. I don't even know if that is true. I'd imagine you'd play better if the joints aren't giving you the business.

I just switched to this bc they had it at my club. I like it.
I don't have big hands and I haven't seen any problems with the club face staying open.

The only midsize grip that hasn't produced a two way miss for me. I'll be going back to these when I re-grip

When I was ready to re-grip, I went to the golf shop and was asking about larger grips. The guy handed me the grip and told me to hold the grip like I would my club.
Hold that for a second, then remove your right hand (assuming you're right handed) and look where the end of your fingers are in relation to your palm with your left hand. If your fingers just meet your palm, that's the right size. You don't want your fingers digging into your palm, and you don't want a gap between your fingers and palm.
I ended up with the mid size grip and love the little extra control you have. Definitely helped with over-rotating the club when swinging.

First thing I do when getting a new club is regripping it to a midsize or jumbo. The tighter you grip the club, the less distance. Least that is what Sir Nick said. Get a grip that is comfortable and allows you to not have to squeeze the club as much. I have enjoyed the larger grips for 10 years now.

I just ordered some Winn Dri Tac Lite oversized grips for my clubs. Should be here today. I’m tired of going to the range and leaving with pain in my knuckles. It’s taking away from my enjoyment of the game. Excited to go to the oversized and hopefully put an end to that knuckle pain.
