Pretty much a scam.

ETA:
Nothing about the insulation treats the route cause of termite infestations. And the control of such infestations is limited to the contact with the insulation. Orkin themselves states
quote:

"NOT FOR SOLE PROTECTION AGAINST TERMITES. Use of this product does not substitute for pre- and/or post-construction
mechanical alteration, soil treatment or foundation treatment."

There is nothing different about this insulation than other insulations. It is the fire retarding chemical it is sprayed with, that creates an environment inhospitable to insects.

It is an outstanding deal.

For Orkin. Not for you.

For $350 you can buy 20 bags of treated cellulose insulation from Home Depot and get a free machine rental for a day to blow it in. I did the same, but I spent more to get fiberglass. Just for a cost comparison if you got a quote from them.

Cellulose is treated with a fire retardant, the retardant is Boric Acid, Boric Acid is the same thing as Roach Proof.
