I'd say marginally above average in some, maybe many, cases.

Well d line recruiting under Kelly has been terrible. Kelly cost LSU a natty because of House. BK has done some good things but he hasn't built a defense. In that department he has been below abysmal. If the FSU qb hadn't gotten injured, FSU makes the playoffs with a portal led defense. Thus far, BK has rolled snake eyes on defense.

I don't think we are 1-2 DTs away from being a contender. Kelly was out front saying he did not want to build the team through the portal and it's insane to pay what the apparent price is for 2 DTs that before the portal no one heard of.
Maybe we would have made the playoffs with them. Maybe we do anyway, but we still don't have the talent or depth on D to get to the NC unless we have a miraculous improvement on D which is unlikely. Keep the 25' class together, develop the players we have and add some more key pieces and Kelly has the foundation for a championship run.

Our coaches are pretty comfortable, bud. Calm down. The shite with the D line sucks but we gotta play with what we got . It is what it is. Yalls expectations are so low that it'll be decent. Our whole defense is rebuilding and we play in the best conference . Let's hope for top 50. Not this year but 25 and on

Jalen Lee, Duce Chestnut, Denver Harris, etc. have all been major disappointments. It looks like we are going to swing and miss on every DT in the portal this year despite that being a desperate need and the cupboard being totally bare. Florida State gets Keon Coleman, Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Fentrell Cypress, and we get scrubs.
What needs to change in order for us to be more successful transfer-wise? Is it totally a money problem or a coaching problem?
Also, unlike Miami and Oklahoma, we are looking at trying to land #1 classes back to back, and that requires SERIOUS dough. We can probably cough up 500-600k for an okay at best DT, but when you're talking 800-900, even a mil for a DT when we're trying to land top 10 overall players at the same time, you must be crazy.
Also, we will have to go the UGA route. Recruit high school heavy so when you go into the portal, you're topping off the tank, not in dire straits. Give it two years. IMO, the true next championship run will be in 2025. The hope is to make the playoffs this year. And hell, we never know, McKinley could turn out to be a freshman phenom. Not likely, but got damn it's better than what yall are doing.

Yes. Yes they are because most of the posters here are baby boomers (or as I call them, the Veruca Salt generation because the want everything and want it now and to hell with the consequences to those around them) and they get butthurt when we don’t sign every high ranked player ever.
