I know it's unpopular but I agree. Lot of hype behind Hankton due to that 1st class. Last year's was meh at best and this one isn't looking much better even with all the "interest" from top guys. In the end, this summer most likely, as with last year, they'll abandon the national recruitments and work a couple of LA kids to death trying to validate offering them. Remember Micheal Turner last year? All that work in camp to earn the offer and what do you know, kid can't make it to campus before they decide wr may not be his spot. It could make one wonder if the staff really knows what they're doing. When they don't trust their own eyes how are we supposed to?

I never said he was

you actually did say exactly that without naming the coach..

Facts:

1. Both Thomas and Nabers were members of the 2021 recruiting class. 2021 LSU commitment list

2. Mickey Joseph was the WR coach at LSU in 2021 with DJ Mangas the Passing Game Co-ordinator. 2021 LSU coaching stafff

3. Cortez Hankton was the WR coach at LSU in 2022 and 2023. Hankton LSU Bio

Your theorem:

4.You asserted that Hankton should not get credit for the development of Thomas and Nabers since "some other coach" had previously "coached them up".

Conclusion:

5. You are ill-informed.

a.) Each and every year Joseph was the WR coach at LSU an additionally coach was added to the staff to oversee the development of WRs at LSU because Joseph was a sub-standard position coach at this level.

b.) The tandem of Joseph and Mangas was clown college in 2021.

c.) The development and improvement of Thomas and Nabers as 1st round receivers falls on the coach who got them to that level and that was not "some other coach" as you inferred (see above Facts #1 through #3).

Therefore, that is exactly what you said and the reason I am laughing at you.

I didn’t say he wasn’t a good coach, I just think his recruiting is overrated.

George Pickens #24 overall 5 star
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint #55 overall 4 star
Jalen Brown #68 overall 4 star
Kylan Billiot #139 overall 4 star
Jelani Watkins #167 overall 4 star

He has LSU in the mix for the top 3 WRs of 2025. Also, bet you didn't open your mouth to say this when we had Moore.
quote:

Nabors and BT also were coached up by another coach as well, so aren’t exactly a great example
Nabors and BTjr were coached up by Hankton. Two years of improving them.
quote:

Justin Jefferson was only ranked low because of his grades.
The fact that people still believe this shows you the lack of common sense. Grades have never stopped recruiting sites from ranking players high. What a load of shite.
quote:

Most recruitniks said he should have been a 5 star.
Yeah, after the fact. FOH.
quote:

Chase and Marshall were I believe ranked 1,2 in rankings. Not exactly the same kind of recruits that you mentioned.

Marshall #13 overall 5 star, Chase #84 overall 4 star.
Aaron Anderson #33 overall one spot from a 5 star,
Shazz Preston #55 overall 4 star, Chris Hilton #79 overall 4 star

Literally the same kind of recruits
quote:

With the run LSU has been on with wide receivers. I don’t see why our wide receiver room shouldn’t look like Ohio States. Which makes me wonder under BK are there positions that he’s willing to spend more on. Positions that BK prioritizes. Definetly o line
What a complete dumb as bricks mofo.

LSU has never loaded up with the best "high school ranking" WR room unless they were from Louisiana. It's pretty friggin simple. We haven't had the super elite rankings Ohio St has, but we also never needed them because we have the best in the country in this state. Ohio St keeps grabbing the highest rated guys all over the country because they have to.

Hankton has gone around and found the diamond like AD Mitchell, Ladd McConkey. He coached up a Vandy kid in Trent Sherfield, who was a QB in high school, and a safety prospect for college, into a guy that has played some in the NFL.

Getting guys who want to be here, and developing them is always how we have done it. That's why on the same list that Shea did research on that showed we were the worst at developing 5 stars, we were also one of, if not the best, at developing 3 stars.

You're all the way around bad in your entire assessment.

Wow all of that for you simply misunderstanding nabers and btj aren’t solely coached under one wr coach which you admitted to. Thanks for the name calling but all of this wasn’t my point in the first place. I said in my op that Hankton is an overrated recruiter in my eyes. This is my personal opinion on how I’ve watched him recruit since he has been here. You making it into something about development is beyond what I said in my op.

I think last year's class will end up being solid.

I'm pretty sure turner is still a wide receiver.

Yea I’m pretty much all for funneling wide receiver money to other positions. Just sign the best in Louisiana and be done with it.

With the athletes Louisiana continuously churns out, spend the money elsewhere.

Can you take your flip flip wearing arse down to a dock and fall in the drink, preferably with your laptop.

You bitch and complain like somebody's ex-wife.

Both OSU and Texas at one point were recruiting Underwood. shite, everyone was recruiting Underwood at some time or another.

If LSU's NIL game is so weak, why is Underwood locked in so hard ? He just really likes Purple that much ?

Nope. Jefferson did have grade problems, but no recruitniks had him as a 5 star out of high school.

Hankton has been good for us.

I expect him and Shepard to be in this class. During that 7 on 7 Underwood hit him alot.
