I’ve seen the results from recruiting DT in the portal and it will have its impact on the 2024 season.

But… the future …. who are we recruiting for DT & DE in the 2025 class. ?????

How is Bo Davis and the DE end coach (People’s?) … how are they being received ????

Give them 3 years and we'll be fine.

No reason why we shouldn’t be competing for a natty every year with the coaches and recruiting we have in place. Georgia, Bama and Ohio State do it every year right? Or almost.

Bama gets a new coordinator every year or so. They have no issues reloading and competing.

I’d love to hear some good news about a DT or 2 in the coming weeks. Possibly the only weak spot we have.

Only weak spot? Not so sure about that. Pretty much every level on defense has question marks. Tons of inexperience at CB, S has Burns/Sage starting with inexperience behind them, LBs lacked consistency last year and it's the same guys, DT depth is thin and has a lack of talent, and DE has the same guys who average at best with inexperience behind them. Not sure how you can say that's the only spot with a weakness. Sure, if all the pieces fell in place maybe and surpassed realistic expectations in other ways. That's impossible to predict though.

Terrible, according to how this board will ultimately go. We might as well pack it in for the season, next season, and consider disbanding the program together.

Georgia
it took Kirby 5 years to become a juggernaut.

Ohio State plays in a weaker conf and hasn't won an NC since 2014

And well, saban was a different animal.

Chill out

We are starting over with all new defensive staff and depleted roster. 3 years is typically what is expected in this situation, Yes? Only way to speed up this transition is to overpay average portal players which may cause strife within the team. BK is in a hard spot but I don't see him overpaying and taking chance of loosing team. They will just keep trying to find players that fit within the team structure. High school recruiting will ultimately resolve this but that will take some time.

The all new defensive staff is not on the field playing. And being told in year 3 that the dline will be fixed in 3 years is laughable. I know the situation and it is what it is. Getting it fixed in 3 years is your opinion but I promise you that is not their timeframe. Peoples jobs are always on the line at this level. TWO years from now if the defense isn’t better changes get made. A lot of talent gets wasted if we can’t have at least a middle of the pack defense within 3 years. Last year was a wasted year in tgat if our D is average we have another trophy. I’m not talking about being elite. I’m talking average. At least our offense will be good but I just dont think BK is thinking “we will get it fixed in 3 more years”

It typically takes 3 years to rebuild via high school recruiting. It doesn't matter what anybody expects or thinks that is a fact. .

To me college football has become a year to year deal.
You can't look to the future in the current age of NIL and transfer portal.

You may have half the team different starting off the year in some cases.
While I understand what BK is trying to do in recruiting but will planning for the future work in this day and age of college football.
