We got to accept there is a finite amount of money available for NIL
Looks like LSU is putting their money in the 2025 recruiting class. It does seem like it is a bad investment to through 500 to 800 K into a one and done DL guy. On the other hand if that guy can make the difference between making the playoffs or not , then I am undecided about the expense. That being said the coaching staff not biting on the DL auction make me wonder what the alternative plan is? I suspect they have one, just not sure if it is a viable one. Course their reputation and jobs depend on making the right call. For me it just discussion fodder.

Word on the town is they will push all in for CJ West, but even that does not look very likely.

I thought he had an issue with grades and couldn’t transfer?

NC - cannot even compete for the SEC West or playoffs either
Defense will get gashed big time unless McKinley is immediately as better than advertised.

could care less that Miami is gonna throw the extra money to get him (worked great for A&M right)

But the fact they could have had the Indiana kid for a reasonable amount and let him walk...

Thats gonna sting.

I’m acknowledging that times have changed, and we’re heading for a point where the lines between the college game and the NFL can no longer be delineated. Saban saw it and said “frick it, I’m out”. Chip Kelly basically said the same thing. You’ll see more and more follow suit. The guys you want to buy care nothing about the school, the state, or championships. They’re mercenaries looking for a payout and will have no loyalty to the program. Good luck sustaining that model.

ok, and all of this means BK shouldn't pay market value for positions of need why?

Some of y’all are dense as frick when it comes to NIL.

You cannot spend stupid money on a nobody DL unless you want to pay all of your existing players more, especially your stars. It’s not about the one player, it’s about the entire team. For fricks sake get a grip

Word on the street is that his NIL demands were far less than the other two

Auburn upped the offer, but was still well within our range. He preferred LSU as well.

But our staff felt the other 2 were better players, and there was a good chance we could get both. Obviously, it blew up in their faces.

One thing on Blidi - my understanding is portal commitments don’t mean anything until they show up in class.

LSU to go back and up the offer?

Why not check out the other Mich St. DT who hasn't committed yet?

Yep, last year's offense was really archaic.

I just don't get it though.
I understand you aren't to overpay.

That is what LSU struggled with last year was defense.
Why would you spend .

Makes no sense

I don't think DT will be a glaring weakness either and have stated why. I will repeat that at least one of S Jones and P Shand will move inside. And some of you weight watchers spare me the utter crap that they don't weigh enough. That is utter nonsense. I said it months ago about the move and it will happen. Counting on Lee, Makaneole, Washington, and maybe even Paez (not sure about him) is folly.

Most of ya'll are clueless about what is going on behind the scenes. SMH
