but what about the bigs? Where are the bigs? We need some bigs.

That I dont know, I wanted Amina Muhammad but she was insistent on committing to a bottom tier program whose coach will be fired in less than 12 months. I guess Nike is that impactful.

Mike Scarborough the other day even mentioned it on his show that they weren't done adding to this years team. Who they are targeting, I'm not sure but still actively looking to add for next years team

Many years ago, LSU had an Australian connection.

Has Barker committed yet? Likely won’t be LSU but just curious. The only other quality big out there would be Dauda and supposedly LSU hasn’t been in touch.

you recall katrina hibbert? amaaaazing shooter! was an exchange student here, attended denham springs and then had a great career at lsu. then wnba. then went back home to melbourne and coached (i think she still coaches) in the wnbl! tricked me into eating a heap of vegemite once... those were fun days with that squad!

prolly waiting on the highest bidder. everyone seems desperate for 1 more big. cant believe no one's even seen this girl walking around on a campus in the past 25 days--kinda hard to miss. ive heard that she may be considering ucla. maybe those west coast kids dont know who she is.

We need another big but just a 2nd one off the bench that'll give us 8-10 minutes a game. Finding someone in the portal both good enough to play and comfortable with that limited a role is probably a challenge though.

I heard LSU was in contact with a 6'6 JUCO player from Australia but I think she has to stay for a 2nd year in JUCO before transferring, if not they would have signed her already

6'7 big from Brazil just transferred from Baylor, she was a top 50 recruit coming from Montverde HS in Florida (where all kinda of top hs talents transfer to). Issue is she is incredibly raw but she is mobile at least

I'm kind of running out of ideas granted I dont know every single post/forward portal entry and what is available at the JUCO/international level

Lety Vasconcelos, 6’7, C, Fr. (1.1 ppg)

surprised no one is talking about this freshman out of the baylor. she could be a 2nd cardosa in the making! she played with mjracle and janiah in high school. let her and del rosario be a joint project. by the time theyre seniors, they could be the next iriafen and brink!

Isnelle Natabou from Iowa State is still available as a grad transfer. 6’5 and averaged 4.5 points and 3.7 boards in just under 12 minutes per game last season.

Also Tionna Herron from Texas. I believe she was high school teammates with Samyah Smith. She had open heart surgery two years ago when she signed at Kentucky and didn’t play. She played in 11 games last season at Texas for her official freshman season. I’m wondering if she was limited because of the surgery or just getting back into shape after such a serious procedure.

natabou would be a good get. i watched almost all of iowa state's games. i actually thought they might make as far as the elite 8 with the squad they had! really surprised bill fennelly lost so many players to the portal! they have a legit shot at making it pretty far in the tourney next year! but yes, i think natabou would provide some excellent minutes!

Yep, just need one tall (6'-4" or taller) post preferably for rebounds and/or shot-blocking/altering but mainly for depth/injury insurance, foul trouble & situational matchup flexibility. Kim would then have the option to play small ball or man-up without fatigue against teams with true Bigs.

I've noticed over my one full year of watching wcbkb that even the tall projects consistently contribute a couple of blocks or rebounds in limited minutes, simply due to their natural length, no matter how raw they are or what level they are coming from. That one rebound or shot block can make a difference in close conference games. I'll take a tall project.

How about Liatu King from Pitt? I think she’s still available. All-ACC with 18 double doubles.

Of course, I'd love King or Barker type. They'd be starting PF's that'd make this talented roster FF contenders. At the bare minimum though, we need a tall post for depth.

Excellent player, the issue is she is 6'0.

We have all the scoring we need, we just need another support piece inside that can play some D and compete for rebounds. Ideally the last piece we need to add should be at least 6'3

She’s only 6’0. Not really a great fit for what LSU needs. I think utilizing a 4 out 1 in offense, with Aneesah and Jersey playing more of a stretch wing and Smith and del Rosario inside. Smith can also stretch out if she’s in the game with del Rosario. That’s what I would do anyways.

Cameron Williams is another grad transfer out of Michigan that’s still available. Not sure if she would be interested in coming off the bench after starting 16 games at Michigan during her senior year. She averaged 7 and 5 in around 17 minutes per game.

She recently visited Texas, and she would come off the bench there as well..

Granted LSU should try at least
