I don’t think so he had Skenes and Crews best two players in college ball and maybe our history. They made it easier

Skenes dominating game ones is what really set that team up
Then you could hit your way out of the rest

The turnaround started with Jump and his last couple of starts
He’s set the tone

This 56 game season is the tale of 5 league games that got sideways on the Tigers. Take care of those 5 games and lsu is 41-15, 18-12, a national seed and everyone around here is walking around with full on ragers for Jay and this team. Baseball is funny

Last season it was pretty remarkable what he did with the pitching staff.

This year, it's been pretty remarkable what he's done to get to this point with the pitching staff and offensive struggles we've had.

Either way, he's a great coach and we're lucky to have him.

Yeah and Jay's coaching got us Skenes.

We're not even 100% sure we'll make a regional yet. Calling that "the best coaching job ever" at LSU is ridiculous. Not to mention this team was preseason top 5 to start and didn't win any series against SEC ranked opponents.

But why are those offensive struggles and lack of pitching depth not taken into account when judging his coaching this season?

For the record, the best non-Skip and non-CWS winning coaching job in LSU baseball history is 2008.

Oh yeah, that did happen. Thanks.

Regardless, we lost more SEC series than we won this year.

Was it a good coaching job in the second half of the season to make sure the team didn't go into the tank? Sure.

Best coaching job ever? Lol no.

I'm not sure what you expected this team to be after everyone we lost. The fact you want to ignore things like that and how young this team is is pretty disingenuous.

Broski quit on the team after we lost the first wake Forest game in Omaha last year. Sad!
