How many coaches in the country would you rather have than BK?

For me, the answer is 3 - I'd rather have Smart, Harbaugh, or Kiffin (haha, I know just my opinion) and honestly...Harbaugh's future is looking interesting at the moment. I think we've got THAT dude as our head coach and if LSU fails it's not going to be because of BK.

In my opinion the only one on that list that I would take over BK for sure is Smart. I like Harbaugh but I really think him and Kelly are about even, only reason I would possibly take Harbaugh over Kelly is he is slightly younger so may get more years from him. While Kiffin would be entertaining as all hell, I'm still not sold on his ability to be consistently good.

None, BK is a solid coach and he will do what needs to be done to win a championship.

I could see Smart.

I am fairly certain he wouldn't last here and that he wants back in the NFL.

No thanks. I prefer BK to Kiffin. Not that I would be upset if Kiffin was our coach.

Do you leave out Saban because you honestly believe Kelly is a better coach than Saban, or just because of Saban's age? Because if Saban were 5 years younger, I think he's a no-brainer for this list.

I think you could also make an argument for Mike Norvell--he has done an amazing job building Florida State's program back from an extended period of irrelevance. But I would definitely NOT have Kiffin on my list. So I would agree that Kelly would be in my top 5.

Kirby is the only answer for me.

Harbaugh's personality and scheme would absolutely not translate here.

Harbaugh had to take a salary cut just 3 years ago to keep from getting fired for sucking. He did turn it around, but he was mediocre for a while.

Kelly is a proven head coach that knows how to run a football program there’s no doubt about that. Of realistic, available options, there’s no one in the country I’d rather have than Kelly.

That dude was on the verge of getting fired before he kicked our arse last season.

you can definitely tell this is a LSU board. So everyone is saying Kelly is the best coach in the country and would rather him than Smart or Saban? lol.

I think BK is a great coach. Saban and Smart aren’t available. Who’s better. Willingham?

Smart
Saban
Lanning- recruits like the 2 above and is going to be a superstar- probably gets Bama job when Saban retires

Sure, possibly. Just from a recruiting standpoint alone.

However, I don’t think Harbaugh is all that great of a coach and I like Kiffin a lot but he’s not as good a coach as Kelly.

Kirby and Saban are definitely two. BK probably has the edge on a lot of guys because of his age. For example, Dan Lanning could be a better coach but he’s 25 years younger and has only been a HC for 2 years so obviously BK has a more impressive resume. Matt Rhule has been really impressive at every college he has been at.
