Has there ever been 2 Golden Spikes Finalists going head to head on the mound in the National Championship deciding game?

Probably.

But more unlikely that the winner was starting too.

I doubt we have ever seen a GS finalist pitch to the GS winner and in the bottom half of inning another GS finalist pitches to a GS finalist.

Wow, awesome observation! I cannot imagine that has ever happened.

I had free time and did some research.
Short answer is No, it hasn't happened.

There was one instance in 1985 where finalist Greg Swindell of Texas could have pitched against Miami. There is a video of Miami's finalist pitcher Raether coming in to close out the win. Could not find box score.

Other fun facts: 1987 Finalist Jack Mcdowell started the championship game for Stanford and won (7 inn on 2 DAYS REST). 2000 Finalist TIGER Brad Cresse got the walk-off hit in championship game going 2-13 in Omaha. 2014 and 2015 had LSU finalists that got snuffed. 2021 finalist Kumar Rocker got rocked in the game 3 finale against Miss St.
