I'm really impressed with this guy. He has come under a lot of criticism for some of his play, but I think people forget he is a REDSHIRT FRESHMEN! He's gonna take some lumps this year and he does have some things that need work, but I believe he has a ton of potential that, if realized, will allow him to have a great career here. In fact, I think he will be 4 year starter before it is all said and done...and YES, i'm aware Shep is on the horizon.....that's right i said it.

I don't really see a lot of criticism. Jesus and Mohammad could be the two QB's and still draw some criticism. I think Lee looks better than I expected.

He's been criticized quite a bit, but not unjustly in most cases. My only point is that, I think some of the criticism should be tempered with a reminder that he is young. Kid has a lot of ability and seems to be a leader.

i said it on the rant on Thursday (i think) of last week that the only thing that i was worried about against florida was that lee might be a little more pressured because of the fact that hatch is available in case lee screws up. hatch was not available for lee's last two performances allowing lee to relax and play without worries. that being said, i thought that lee threw the ball better against m.s.u.

I have a good friend who coached against him in Texas and he said he was the best player he had seen in a long time, Lee IMO is/will be better than JJ because of his leadership experience he is getting this year...JJ is good now doubt but I think Lee is the better of the 2

For being a 19 year old RS freshman he is doing well. Some on this board (not in this thread) who expect a season of perfect perfomances from a 19 yr old QB in the SEC need a reality check...

I like JJ's potential, as well, but Lee's got something....cant put my finger on it, but something keeps me thinking he's gonna be a great one.

Jarrett Lee has acquitted himself just fine for what's been placed on his shoulders. He is not, by far, the problem of this team.

he looked better against Florida than Jamarcus did in his first start. He also looked better than Rohan, Nall and Booty against Auburn that really hot day in Tiger Stadium.(I don't remember which one of them started but I don't remember any one of them doing well)

Well, Mohammad couldn't throw the fade. Didn't see Jesus play, though, but he could definitely work miracles.

I think your wrong. I heard Obama used to throw a mean fade route.

This is eerily similar to last year. Everyone thought that QB play would be a "problem" area for us...when, in fact, it was more than adequate to win games. It is the defense that has let us down in all of our losses the last two years.

Jordan Jefferson will not be better than Lee. Are you retarded. Lee has shown spurts of what he has coming for LSU in the future. He is probably one of the most talented quarterbacks that LSU has had in a long time. He just needs some experience. Trust me this guy will be gone from LSU by his Junior year. He will be that good!

I agree. Lee looks to have a ton of talent. I don't really know how good Jordan Jefferson can be, so I can't say for sure how things will shake out between those two. Lee should be very good by 2009, though, so I don't see Miles/Crowton making a switch unless JJ just looks head-and-shoulders better than Lee.

For 2009, the best bet, imo, is JLee as the #1 QB, with either JJ or Shep coming in as a change-of-pace guy.

compare JLee's numbers thus far to Matt Stafford's number his first year as a starter.
