2nd in the SEC all-time next to Bama's four (all under Saban). Congrats JD, you were most deserving. Geaux Tigers!

It’s hard to believe Bama went all those years without one then had 4 in about
15 years

Harder to believe that Mark Ingram actually won it

Not when you realize the other 3 finalists were Toby Gerhardt, Colt McCoy, and Ndamukong Suh

4th Heismann !according to this article.

Billy Cannon won the award in 1959, and in 2009, Doc Fenton was awarded the trophy for his 1908 season, when the National Football Foundation retroactively selected winners from 1889 to 1934. So, Daniels is the fourth LSU player to be named the Heisman winner.

I never knew that about Doc Fenton. Just another reason it’s bullshite that the 1908 team doesn’t get credit they deserve.

This is wild, I never knew about the retroactive heismans given out. Do people count those? I think Fowler said Daniels could be lsu’s third winner early in the presentation

I don't think so. The award is given by the Downtown Athletic Club not the NFF. I looked it up and the official Heisman website doesn't list any Retro winners. The Retro "winners" were selected by one NFF sports historian and they published his list of Retro winners. I like his selection of Doc Fenton but I don't see anywhere that there was a real Heisman awarded.
