LSU ties for 6th in number of Heisman winners.

This was my favorite part of the night.
As a fan it was such a long gap after Billy Cannon. I remember when we were excited just to have Honey Badger invited, even though he came in last.
We will have two living Heisman winners for years to come.

Found this interesting tidbit.
4th Heisman winner. Doc Fenton 1908.
Billy Cannon won the award in 1959, and in 2009, Doc Fenton was awarded the trophy for his 1908 season, when the National Football Foundation retroactively selected winners from 1889 to 1934. So, Daniels is the fourth LSU player to be named the Heisman winner.

They started awarding the Heisman in 1935, if schools start claiming the retro Heismans it would great to have Doc Fenton claimed.

NCAA has already updated their most Heismans page to include LSU’s third. This entire write up was not there yesterday.

Daniels and Joe Burrow both transferred to LSU from other schools en route to winning the award. Daniels spent his first three seasons playing for Arizona State, but in his second season for the Tigers, he dominated college football with 50 total touchdowns. Burrow had a similar career path to Daniels, spending his first three seasons at Ohio State, before winning the Heisman in his second season at LSU, where he accounted for 65 total touchdowns.

He came in 5th place, got more 1st place votes than the guy in 4th & higher than Case Keenum, Russell Wilson, & Kellen Moore.
