Pre-game action & parking for Camping World?

We're a group of 6 flying in from Houston Sunday morning. Rather than screwing with 2 Ubers every time we want to make a move somewhere, I rented a Pathfinder (allegedly seats 7) for $65.
Any advice on Parking for the game?
None of us have been to this stadium before so was wondering if it's best to park downtown and just take the shuttle or if that's a isht show and we're better to just pony up and pay more to park closer to the stadium. There are resale parking passes available but they are pricey. I assume you can just find some random lot for $50-$100 but maybe I'm crazy. The wimenz are high maintenance so a mile walk isn't going to cut it...
As for Pre-Game, is the Fan Fest likely to be anything worth attending or should we just find a bar/restaurant to kill some time?

I'm flying in from Houston on Saturday & I rented a vehicle too. When we were there in the past for bowl games, there was poor attendance and plenty of cheap parking passes next to the stadium....
Not this time! The place is sold out & any parking passes are over $200. I got a pass in the Central Garage for $11 & it's a one block walk to the free shuttle bus pickup Point and it drops you off 1 block from our side of the stadium. Plus, they have a block party one block the other way from the garage so I may check that out. The fan fest next to the stadium ain't cheap either.

Thanks. I saw that Central Garage option, I just wasn't sure of how that shuttle was going to work out. I got suckered into doing Park and Ride for the rodeo one year and it was like a 2 hour wait to get on a shuttle out of NRG...
What's the story on that tailgate a block in the other direction? Alumni group or something?

I just looked and the events there look to be on Friday and Saturday night.
I hear you about the lines for the Houston Rodeo Park and Ride... I can't answer whether Orlando will be like that or not.. but I do remember at Syracuse the line for the shuttles was all the way across their quad. It took less than 10 minutes because they would load up 6 buses and as soon as they pulled out 6 more pulled up.

Whatever you do, make sure you park in an official stadium lot. They’ll have people on the road directing you. Just pay it.
Do not park down a side street in homey g dawgs yard. Last time I was there they had about thirty cars who paid to park on somebody’s lawn get all four tires slashed and vehicles looted.

We're driving to the Amway Center for parking sunday a few hours before kickoff to walk around Church St and pre-game a bit. There's supposedly a shuttle that takes you from that area to a block away from the Stadium (Amway is where the Magic play so there's supposedly tons of safe parking in that area)

Parking in Central Garage lot and taking shuttle to the stadium. LSU Alumni Group is doing the Camping World Tailgate at the stadium at 4 pm. No other organized tailgates on Sunday that I'm aware of.

I’m doing the tailgate experience too but separate from the alumni association. $150 bucks is so worth it to get food, drink, and AC.
