I don’t know if it’s been discussed today, but he was back last night.
He looked good to me. Moving well, flying to the ball. 4 tackles, 1 solo. Doesn’t look afraid to hit someone.
I think he’s a huge addition to our backfield and in coverage.
Anyone else see anything different?

I didn’t watch him the entire time but I noticed his coverage skills and a few times releasing to attack the rusher. I’m excited to see him grow with this defense. Could be huge going forward to have a shut down corner emerge.

We have a very physical group of DB's this year. Foucha will only make this group better. They also seem to be so interchangeable. JBC got moved to safety and everything flowed seamlessly. I do realize they weren't challenged on the back end much but when they were, we were blanketing their receivers.

Why not?

It was his only game to judge from since his injury and he was moving well. How is that not a huge positive?
They thought he’d never play again.

Sure you can.

Was he where he was supposed to be when he was supposed to be there?

Did he miss tackles?

You can judge that he looks healthy and can play. That’s been the major question with him to this point.

Why don’t we start at the beginning of the story, why was there a thought of him never playing again? I was aware that he was injured before transferring but don’t know the details of that unjustly. It sounds like you are up to speed on it, so please share. Otherwise, many people likely will not realize what’s he’s gone through until someone on a broadcast brushes over it.

He would have been judged had he missed tackles and busted coverages. He did what was asked of him.

Miami Hurricane fans probably can't judge anything against Middle Tennessee State either.

At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Banks was a two-year starter at Ohio State, starting in eight games and recording eight pass breakups as a junior. He was a third-team preseason All-American in 2021 and made the Thorpe Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy preseason watch lists.

"I bumped into former teammates of his (who) were training for the NFL (and) asked them about him," Steeples said. "One guy, the first thing he says is that he's a freak athlete, he's a really good athlete. Somebody else said that he was really motivated."

He suffered a hip injury that lingered and then a knee injury. Ohio State wasn’t sure he would play again. Steeples thought it was worth bringing him in to see if he could get healthy.
He looked 100% healthy last night. He’s a draft pick if he continues to stay healthy. Kid is legit.
