Runner nearly in the dugout and we run down to tag him. Not to mention not giving a flying frick about the runners still on base.
Then pass your own runner up on third

Cmon man.

Ball between the catchers legs?

I'm just glad the wild pitch went in the dugout.

We are just not a smart team. Does anyone teach situational awareness?

You forgot about how it also went by either collins or Jones before going through milazzos legs

That's my biggest issue of the game are the mistakes

It's late in the season. It should be sound fundamentals.

No. That’s what happens when you sacrifice your lineup for a midweek and consistently change players.

Additionally when you go into any contest “thinking” you’re going to win and all of a sudden you’re in a dogfight, you make mistakes. Optimally there’s an education there for the postseason

Runners should have checked ball, with runner on 3rd, ready to tag. Kid had fell away from homeplate on his diving catch. Would have tied it. Except 3rd base coach didnt have the runner at 3rd ready and his runner on 2nd was running. Total f up.

Sometimes the game isn't perfect, but in that situation, we should be tied and either win with 2 outs or go another inning. Thats on the 3rd base coach

Milazzo misplay when they held the runner at 3B AND Collins not backing up home allowed the winning run.

We are not well coached.

I was surprised to see the pitcher was in no mans land and not backing up the catcher.

We were asleep at the wheel tonight, kinda going through the motions. Tough but it happens, especially after emotional conference weekends like we just had. We know we’re always going to get in state school’s best shot and Nicholls is a good club on top of that. All we can do it learn from it and move on to Bama. We’ll be okay.

Merrifield wasn’t getting back to 2nd unless he stayed close to the bag

What gets me is Jay running from the dugout and telling collins to go run down and tag the runner (I assume that is what jay was doing due to him pointing that direction).

Jones tried a sliding backhand and whiffed, ball then got by Milazzo. Collins was in no mans land on the 1st base line just standing there and watching.

And I am fine if he got caught up in between bags on a great catch like that but to pass up your own runner….cmon now.

As good as nicholls played if we just make our basic plays and coaches take care of business instead of "getting caught watching the game" and keep coaching, we still should have won

Sucks and it burns to lose like this on any given day.

Coaching lost that game. Frey easily scores from 3rd. Runners should have stayed on 1st and 2nd.
