Rohan's 528 against BAMA in 2001 I'd think.

We’ve seen O go all out to get records in the past. No reason to think he won’t this year.

I guessing Burrow pushes for 600 in Oxford

If Joe gets to 35 completions in one game in this offense, he’ll have a bajillion yards. Jefferson or Chase would end up with numerous explosive plays. Can’t give those boys that many touches without them housing it multiple times each. It would be a track meet.

In this offense, 50 completions is going to be over 600 yards, baw.

528 vs Alabama.

Btw, Rohan Davey just completed another pass to Josh Reed for another 35 yard TD.

And just so we're clear, this was the Biletnikoff moment for Josh Reed, who accounted for 293 of Davey's passing yards and 19 of 35 receptions, obviously both good enough for single game records in both categories at LSU.

Amazingly, we only passed 44 times, so Davey was right at 80%, yet only 2 TD passes despite the gaudy production numbers. Other than Clayton on a trick play and 3 Davey scrambles, Toe made all the other rushes. Memory fails at this age, but looking at the stats, I would have to assume Dom Davis was injured very early as he only recorded 1 KOR and no other stats.

As it is, Toe went 23/73 and 3 TDs.

We did lose 2 fumbles that night and Ro threw an interception (Kenny King), and Ryan Clark intercepted backup QB Andrew Zow once (Tyler Watts had a decent game, 13/22, 165yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, but he was also their leading rusher, 21/86 and 1 TD).

Didn't matter, because Josh Reed was so open in that game, one had to wonder if Bama wasn't just sending 10 men out there for a laugh. I mean, so open that on replay, most of his catches didn't have a defender in frame.

And that's a lot of catches.

Oddly enough Bama enjoyed a BYE WEEK ADVANTAGE over LSU for that game

Just while we have these stats up:

Burrow has, basically, gaudy "unprojectable" stats through the halfway mark of the season. It is no insult to suggest the harder half of the season is ahead of us - although we have played a decent defense, Texas, and a (potentially, anyway) great one, Florida, already.

Burrow is at 2157 - let's say he is merely "good" the rest of the way, 300 yards per game puts him at #1 relatively easily, with 3957 - not counting the bowl game. When I say "easily", I mean by 600+ yards.

Career yardage numbers, he's already 7th (5049) needing:

735 for sole 6th (currently Mett) (2 1/2 "good games")

828 for sole 5th (Tyler) (Roughly 3 good games)

1110 for sole 4th (Howard) (Roughly 4 good games)

1577 for sole 3rd (Russell) (Roughly 5 good games and a little bit)

1873 for sole 2nd (Wickersham) (Roughly 6 good games and a little bit)

So, I would comfortably project Burrow to finish between 2nd and 4th among LSU's all time, career passing yardage leaders.

And unlike the 4x 4-year starters and 2x 3-year starters ahead of him, he's doing it in 2 seasons.

I have zero doubts that with a 3rd season here (hypothetically, of course, because he's a senior), in the current offense, he would challenge but not break the 10k mark. (And hold 7 or 8 of the 10 single game spots, which he can still do anyway.)
