@mpschettig asked if the Bills had the best-ever 4-year run of DVOA without making it to a single Super Bowl. Nope! That record belongs to the 2017-2020 Saints. Here are the best, including a couple of 49ers dynasty runs.

I said it in the game thread. The curse of Marino/Kelly/Brees(he at least got 1) has been passed to Allen

Play unreal in the playoffs and have someone else frick it all up for you

Josh is really the most like Brees. 300 yards 3 tds. No mistakes. Lose

The Vikings debacle is so fricking similar to the chiefs clown show from 2021

17,18,20 Saints should’ve been Super Bowl teams.

2017-2020 Saints - Just heartbreaking loss after heartbreaking loss

2017 - Minneapolis Miracle

2018 - Nola No Call

2019 - Kyle Rudolph Pushoff in OT

2020 - Jared Cook Fumble after going 2-0 vs Bucs and Brady in Regular Season

Brees should have at least 3 super bowls if it wasnt for having the worst defenses ever or the worst luck(lol?) ever.

What gives me solace is Brees was able to win one and the only team I truly believe wins a championship is 2018/19.

2017 - not sure we beat the eagles on the road in the nfc championship.

2018 - Firmly believe we win the Super Bowl if not for the no call.

2019 - team laid an egg in that Vikings game. The push off gets more attention than it should.

2020 - Team had a ton of flaws, and not sure they beat KC in the Super Bowl. We were a bad matchup for brady and should have won that playoff game though.

Just because he didn’t turn the ball over doesn’t mean he didn’t make a mistake

Pretty much agree with this, but would have been nice to see Brees get more shots.

2011 hurts more than any of the losses in 2017-2020. The 2011 team was better than the Super Bowl team, in my opinion.

Imagine if Dallas didn't sleep walk through the first quarter of the 1994 NFC championship game. SF and Steve Young would be looking at a decade of winning with no SBs to show for it.

Nobody would feel sorry for them after the 80s but still...

Disagree, 2011 offense was the best but defense was a problem. 2018 Saints team was the best all around team they ever had.

Ann Diggs is largely responsible for the inclusion of Saints and Bills on this list.

Makes me sick that we were one missed DPI away from another Super Bowl. Kinda broke my spirit with NFL football entirely.

And if Allen throws a 5 yard underneath pass to Diggs and is tackled for
3rd and 5, everyone here would be saying he missed a wide open WR in the endzone

Allen is 0-3 vs the chiefs in the playoffs

In those 3 games:

81/124 (65%)
1,030 Yards
9 Total TDs
1 Interception
