Why didn't they have to kick it? It's blocked and MSU returns it the game is tied

Game ended and no time left on clock. Iowa would have just gone into Victory, so no need to get someone injured. Only in Pro game do you have to go for the Point After try.

They did make them snap it after the fact but they kneeled down.

They did make them. They went for two thougha and just took a knee.

They had to run the play because of the two point spread. If the play wasn't run it would deny Michigan State of a legitimate (although it'd be a miracle) shot to tie the game.

Iowa did the smart thing and did the victory formation on the play.

Not true. In college because the defense can score on the play they must run the conversion if the spread is one or two points.

He means the spread as in the actual point spread in the game.

that's what he meant by going into victory ... as in victory formation. just neel the 2 pt conv which they did

But the guy was saying since they would have gone into victory formation, there is no need to run the play and that is why they didn't run the play, which is incorrect.
