My kids are old enough to start seeing some R Rated movie so I selectively curate a few. Let them watch Logan (after I swore to never watch it again) and I remain blown away. My oldest said he liked it more than tDK, which is high praise from his young mind.

Still remains solid as a film, not just a comic book movie. Hate that it came out the same year as Black Panther to be overshadowed (meant with no disrespect.) I like BP

The Shane parallels are even stronger 5 years later.

Why did you swear to never watch it again, especially considering you think it’s good?

Also, forgive my ignorance, but what is rDK?

TDK (the Dark Knight). My bad. Also off on the years with BP. I thought they were in the same

Because I was a huge Wolverine fan and I thought they ended it so well and heartbreakingly that I never wanted to see it again. I loved Schindler’s List and SPR but I haven’t watched any of them in 20 years because I just don’t love that feeling at the end of movies.

As my kids get older I want to introduce them to more and more good movies. I prefer a good story like Logan to Deadpool. I’m fairly selective on them and have gone through a decent number of R rated ones but I still like them to avoid a ton of really graphic violence (Logan is one of the more intense ones, obviously) and nudity.

I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy Logan. It should be in my wheelhouse. I like dystopian type stories. I enjoy comics based movies. Language and violence don't offend me by any means. So I'm not sure why I didn't like it; but it just felt like a joyless slog.

Makes sense. I was just curious, because I thought it was excellent (and that seems to be the general consensus as well). But if it’s because you are too attached to the character, then that’s understandable.

You could tell looking back that they clearly made it to protest trump and that they were all dying of aids because trump got rid of Obamacare

It’s one of my favorite comic book movies but I feel like it was about 20-30 minutes too long on rewatch.

Saw them filming this near Sicily Island (think middle of nowhere) back when. Had no idea what movie it was but I think some people on here knew. When the movie came out I saw what they were filming down a long highway of nothing but cornfields on either side.
