Anybody catch the series? I remember it happening (but never really knowing the actual details) but this series was great. Thought it did a great job of painting a complete picture including the fallout. The interviews were great, especially with the math guy (low key spoiler).

It's pretty well done.
Madoff's greed knew no bounds, but the "Big 4" were every bit as guilty as he was. Pure fricking evil.

I watched 2 other dramatizations one with Richard Dreyfus and one with Robert DeNiro. There wasn’t really anything new in the documentary but it was well done and can be watched as a stand alone or companion piece to the other series. I guess I may have a soft spot for all of them because I think that the subject matter is so interesting

Just finished it, good show...the SEC is a joke!

Was the SEC corrupt, incompetent, or both? No way should that scam had lasted for as long as it did. By giving Bernie a “Clean Bill of Health”, it actually made him more money.
Besides all that, I thought the series was very well done, especially with the interviews with former employees and victims.

I just finished watching it. What got me was all of the others who were in on the swindle and he took the wrap for most of them. At least jail wise.
It reminded me of the Big Short where people were moving jobs between the SEC and private banking. The wolves were watching the hen house, for sure.
I found it very interesting how many people connected to this have committed suicide. It makes me wonder about the types of people he was holding money for through feeder funds and if any of them assisted with the suicides.

Was a great show...and yes, the math guy was freaking awesome. It's one thing to figure it all out so easy like he did, but he was freaking relentless in trying to get someone to notice.
One thing I guess I didn't catch when it happened....he never made even ONE investment. In all those years, taking in BILLIONS, not a single investment with it. That's just crazy to me that he got away with that for so long.

The fact that Bernie was seen by the SEC as an SME to consult says all you need to know about that organization.
